The Pantanal is the world's largest tropical wetland: 150,000 km² of seasonal floodplain. Unlike the Amazon jungle, its open vegetation makes wildlife viewing extraordinary — the planet's highest jaguar concentration, plus caimans, capybaras, giant river otters, and over 650 bird species. The dry season (May–September) is best.
