Hidden in the jungle of Belize's Petén, the country's largest Maya city. Its Caana pyramid rises 43 meters above the green canopy and remains, to this day, the tallest structure in Belize: no modern building surpasses it. You climb to the song of howler monkeys, and from the top there is nothing but jungle to the horizon. Few tourists, deep history, and the feeling of uncovering something the forest nearly swallowed.
