Thousands of orange torii, one after another, forming tunnels that climb the sacred mountain of Inari. You walk beneath them as the light filters through the columns, and the higher you go, the fewer people remain. Dedicated to the deity of rice and prosperity, watched over by fox statues. Go early and lose yourself up the mountain.
