The most symmetrical and beautiful cone in Guatemala, green all the way to the top, standing guard over Antigua just 9 km away. Climbing it takes 4 to 6 hours from Santa María de Jesús and rewards you with views as far as Lake Atitlán. It holds a dark history: in 1541, a wall of water from its slopes destroyed the country's second capital. Dormant today, imposing always.
