A Zen pavilion clad in gold leaf that doubles itself, flawlessly, in the pond facing it. Kinkaku-ji shimmers differently in every season: ablaze among red leaves in autumn, magical under the snow in winter. A World Heritage Site and one of Kyoto's most iconic postcards. Come early to see it in stillness.
